MISSION STATEMENT
Kids in STEM seeks to inspire school-age students through interactive activities that stimulate curiosity, discovery and collaboration in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Our objective is to equip our students with the skills to meet the challenges of the ever-changing world around them and provide pathways to future STEM-related careers.

WHY STEM?
STEM education is important to spark an interest in pursuing a STEM career in students, and these collaborative skills are essential for student success, no matter what subject they choose to pursue in the future. The National Academies report that new strategies are needed to allow the US to remain competitive and strengthen STEM pipelines.
Science
The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
Technology
The branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment.
Engineering
The branch of science and technology concerned with design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures.
Mathematics
The systematic treatment of magnitude, relationships between figures and forms, and relations between quantities expressed symbolically.
